It has been a really busy four months for all of us Minted Artists. Since April, we have poured our hearts and souls into the concepting and design of greeting cards inspired by the most wonderful time the year. With a couple more holiday design challenges to go, I have participated in six out of six of them and submitted a total of 33 designs. From watercolor painting, to sketching, to hand lettering, to illustration, I have really enjoyed working on each of my holiday card designs and I am truly proud of the final product. A big thanks to my dear husband and our sweet boy for helping me making this goal of mine a reality.
This past March, Minted hosted it's annual Kids' Birthday Party Invitation challenge, a long awaited event for me. Last year, while looking for birthday invitations for Luke, my sweet toddler, I came across Minted for the very first time. It was such an eye opener to find out about a company that promotes and supports art so magnificently through competitive design challenges, impeccable customer service, fierce artist promotion and gorgeous packaging. Long story short, it took me a couple of months to actually enter my very first Minted challenge and now, after participating in 20 of them and winning 5 Editor's Picks, let's just say it has been a wonderful ride.
I'm so happy to finally share with the world one of my designs that won an Editor's Pick award during the "A is for Art" challenge for Minted. "Name Initials" is a really dear art piece for me since it was designed thinking of the the love of my life Luke, my one year old son, and my beautiful baby niece who I adore.
The focal point of this art piece is the child's first name initial which has a subtle watercolor treatment I painted especially for this challenge. The child's name is displayed right under the initial in a simple elegant typeface. It's available in 5 colorways to match your little one's room or nursery color palette.
