I'm so happy to finally share with the world one of my designs that won an Editor's Pick award during the "A is for Art" challenge for Minted. "Name Initials" is a really dear art piece for me since it was designed thinking of the the love of my life Luke, my one year old son, and my beautiful baby niece who I adore.
The focal point of this art piece is the child's first name initial which has a subtle watercolor treatment I painted especially for this challenge. The child's name is displayed right under the initial in a simple elegant typeface. It's available in 5 colorways to match your little one's room or nursery color palette.
Minted is a marketplace where independent artists, like me, get a chance to submit their work for various art challenges. Each winner not only gets a prize, but also their own online shop where they can post and sell their art work (non-custom pieces). Most importantly, they get to have their work printed on quality paper and displayed in gorgeous frames (for art prints). And as if that was not enough, each artist is backed by the formidable Minted team who take care of all the details to launch each art work. Minted also offers an excellent customer service, which I have already experienced. I have never been taken care of so well.
Personally, one of the things that impressed me the most was the packaging the product gets delivered in. When my parents ordered and received the "Name Initials" art print, I almost went into to tears when I saw how my art work was displayed and how my picture and my name was so delicately and professionally showcased. Truly a dream come true to have my work represented and delivered with such care.
"Name Initials" has inspired to develop a series of art pieces that will complement this art print. My first derived work is "Watercolor Alphabet" which displays all the letters of the alphabet with the watercolor treatment; a signature look of this unique art print series.
